Your comic library and wishlist are stored on your device only.
We do not operate a user account system or sync your collection to our servers.
Optional online features may send search queries to third-party services (see below).
Submit a bug is optional: you choose what to send via your own email app (see below).
The app stores data you enter or import, including:
This data remains in local app storage unless you uninstall the app or clear app data.
When you use optional online features, the app may contact the following services. These services have their own privacy policies. We do not control how they process requests.
| Service | Purpose | Data sent |
|---|---|---|
| Grand Comics Database (comics.org) | Search catalog / Find Online | Search terms you enter |
| Metron (if configured by developer build) | Comic metadata API | API credentials and search terms |
Settings includes Submit a bug, which lets you describe a problem and open your device's email app with a draft message. Longbox does not send email on its own — nothing is transmitted until you send the message from your email app.
Recipient: Bug reports are addressed to will.fisher@wfcodes.com (app support).
The following table shows what the app pre-fills in the draft:
| Data | Included? |
|---|---|
| Text you type in the dialog | Yes — editable before sending |
| App version | Yes — prefilled |
| Device manufacturer and model | Yes — prefilled |
| Android version and API level | Yes — prefilled |
| Your comic library, wishlist, or cover photos | No — not attached automatically |
| Your email address | No — comes from your email app if you send |
You may add or remove information in the email before sending. Do not include sensitive personal data unless you are comfortable sharing it with support.
Email providers: Sending uses your installed email client (for example Gmail or Outlook). That provider's privacy policy and terms apply to delivery and storage of the message.
If barcode scanning is enabled in your build, the camera is used locally on the device to read barcodes. Images are not uploaded to Longbox servers.
The app may show ads through Google AdMob, which may collect device and usage data as described in Google's Privacy Policy. You can manage ad consent in Settings → Privacy & ad preferences.
You may purchase a one-time Remove ads option through Google Play. Payment is processed by Google; we do not receive your payment card details. Purchase status is stored on your device and restored via Google Play on reinstall.
The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We use standard Android storage for local data. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure.
We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date will change when we do. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
